EXHIBITIONS
For the 100th birthday of the renowned North London venue Screen On The Green, the current owners Everyman Cinema approached Jones to curate three days of film screenings, live music, DJ’s and talks that would celebrate the building’s history that was steeped in punk legend with bands such as The Sex Pistols, The Clash and The Slits playing some of their infamous formative gigs there in 1976/77.
The schedule of events ran from Friday 29th November to Sunday 1st Dec and featured screenings of The Harder They Come, Don Letts’ Westway to the World and Jim Jarmusch’s Mystery Train. Live music was performed by Viv Albertine, Glen Matlock and Hollie Cook whilst DJ’s included Louis Simonon, Pam Hogg and Tessa Bassie. The event culminated with a panel discussion hosted by writer and journalist Chris Salewicz that included Mick Jones, Johnny Green (Clash’s Tour Manager), Viv Albertine, Don Letts and Glen Matlock. The event featured on Robert Elms’ BBC London radio show.
